The surgeon told us that Ranee is one of the strongest dogs he has ever seen. She broke out of her cage before, and was immediately trying to get up and walk after the operation. Apparently, after a substantial sedative dose she was still awake and alert.
Here are some post-operation photo’s (The first one you can tell she’s clearly drugged up on pain killers):
Looks just like Rio’s bottom post surgery, with the exception of the fact that Ranee has so much less bruising.
Wishing you a speedy and easy recovery, Ranee… Sleep well for now, though!

What a beautiful girl. The “unsettling” photos hopefully are evidence that Ranee has become a fighter and a survivor. Ruby is 16 days out from her surgery and her unsettling incision is already healed and looks 100% better. Sending healing vibes your way… Cindy and Ruby
Awww, what a sweetie! Welcome home Ranee.

Around here, we don’t find photos like that too unsettling! She looks great. A butt full of sutures, but there are worse things…like x-rays full of bone cancer.
Go Ranee! Just take it easy and don’t be so determined to show everyone you are really Paul Bunyan-strong. Relax…
